Welcome to De Bos Guest Farm in Montagu
Our 5-hectare guest and working pecan nut farm is situated in the heart of the Klein Karoo town of Montagu, on the famous Route 62 in the Western Cape, South Africa. De Bos, which aptly translates to “The Forest”, dates back to the 1850’s and is owner managed.
We offer a variety of family centric, self-catering accommodation options. Which include, shaded camping areas, a backpackers barn, three private en-suite rooms, as well as a garden cottage and four fully equipped bungalows. The enclosed communal pool offers a welcome respite during hot summer days with loads of open areas for the children to explore.
Peacocks, guinea fowl and leopard tortoises roam the farm. Cuddly Nana our resident donkey along with sheep, and a pony Smarites live in the paddocks. For the bird lover, this is spotting paradise! De Bos is a favourite accommodation option for rock climbers, hikers and mountain bikers visiting Montagu.
If hiking and climbing is what you’re looking for then De Bos is the place to be – we are within walking distance of all the hikes and most of the climbs. Just leave you car and walk.
Our farm is less than a 5km drive or a 2km walk from the well-known Montagu Hot Springs and within easy walking distance to the centre of town with its historical museum, coffee shops, craft markets and stylish restaurants. Route 62 is renowned for its wine and olive tasting.
