Explore Montagu

At De Bos Backpackers & Camping, you can simply put your feet up and relax, but for the more adventurous, there is so much to do. We are centrally situated and everything is a mere stone’s throw from the farm. We are within walking distance of a number of good restaurants, supermarkets, two splendid museums and lots of exploring to be done. Close by, there is rock climbing that is known as some of the best in the world. There are also spectacular mountain bike trails, superb road cycling and a host of rewarding hiking trials. Nearby there are famous hot springs and a warm water spa, horse riding, fabulous wine tasting, and everything to keep you entertained and happy.

The beautiful town of Montagu is just 190km from Cape Town and is at the gateway to the Klein Karoo. We are on Route 62, a popular tourist destination. We are an ideal base for excursions to the nearby Breede River Valley, a superb wine-producing region. Nearby is the world famous tractor ride to a viewing point at the top of the Langeberg mountains. There are 9-hole golf courses in both Montagu and Bonnievale. You name it, Montagu has it.
